Inglés – El adjetivo

Un adjetivo es una palabra que acompaña y modifica al nombre. Puede ampliar, complementar o cuantificar su tamaño.

El inglés tiene ocho clases de adjetivos:

1. Calificativos: fat, red, nice…
2. Demostrativos: this, that, these, those
3. Distributivos: each, every, either, neither
4. Cuantitativos: some ,any, many…
5. Interrogativos: which?, what? …
6. Posesivos: my, your…
7. Propios: English, Spanish
8. Numerales: one, four, first, second…

El género y número

El adjetivo en inglés es invariable, es decir, no cambia con el género ni con el número:

fast; rápido, rápida, rápidos, rápidas

Los adjetivos demostrativos tienen diferentes formas para el singular y el plural:

this pencil
these pencils

Los adjetivos cuantitativos tienen diferentes formas para el singular y el plural:

much milk (mucha leche)
many books (muchos libros)
